Abstract

This research investigates the process of making a Search and Rescue (SAR) map of the Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD) Mt. Tamalpais watershed that is specifically optimized for audiences who participate in SAR operations. The process includes collecting and assessing data and user input, the production of a Draft Map, the assessment of the Draft Map by stakeholders and prospective map users, and the production of the Updated Map. Factors include cartographic visualization and methods of assessment.
