Abstract

The objective of this project is the development of recommendations for a bat interpretive program to be used in the SF Bay Area state parks. Archival research and interviews with personnel involved in bat interpretation in Western North America will identify components of successful programs that may be reproduced locally. Content analysis of local media representations of bats as influenced by regional, national and international cultural trends will be used to determine the most appropriate and effective interpretive themes and activiteies for a local audience.
